Postponed Wedding Planning

Save the Dates have been made and are getting ready to go out soon! I have kind of halted with wedding planning for the moment. I decided to just take a break for a little bit since I have been busy with work and school lately. I'm still having a hard time decoding on flower girl dresses, which is kind of a bummer! It seems like they are all too fancy or not fancy enough. But until I find one I am just going to keep looking around. It seems like time is going so fast and I feel like I have no time to plan when in reality I have all the time I'm the world. Everything is pretty much done besides flower girls dresses, the guys' attire, cupcakes, flowers, invitations, hair/makeup. Which these are all things we can worry about until after the holidays since our wedding is in May. I just want to take the time and thank everyone that has given me world's of encouragement, advice, and support through all of this so far. You don't realize how stressful planning a wedding is ...

Unstressful Planning

When you think about wedding planning you probably think about stress. But I will have to say, I haven't really been stressed at all so far. This engagement so far has been wonderful to me. I have been doing a little dieting..so far I have lost 9 pounds and it is great to see the numbers on the scale drop. Blake and I were talking the other night about our future together and where we would like to live and what kind of house we would like to be in. All of that talk just brings a sense of calmness down upon me because I know that whatever life throws at me, it will be fine because I have him. Who knew that being in love with someone who cares so much about you, listens to you, helps you, and accepts you for all of your twisted faults even though you are furthest thing from perfect would make such an impact on you. When I started this dieting thing Blake said,"babe, you look great the way you are. I think you're hot!" It made me think...if he is not worried about it.....

Getting It Done!

So last night the bridesmaids and I went to David's Bridal in search of bridesmaids' dresses. Needless to say, we had no trouble finding dresses because in a matter of an hour and a half, we got bridesmaids' dresses and also MY DRESS! That's right! I said yes to the dress last night and it was the best feeling to have on the dress that Blake will see me in on our day. I have decided to use Stephanie's veil, my stepsister, and it worked out that that the veil and dress matched perfectly! The dress that I chose was not something that I ever thought I could pull off. My maid of honor picked the dress out and I realized that she knows me way better than I thought. I absolutely fell in love with it the moment I put it on! I would give you all a description of my dress, but I do not want Blake to have the slightest idea of what he is going to see his bride in.        Something that I realized last night while the bridesmaids and I ...

Chaos of Wedding Planning

So it has been a little over a week now that we have been engaged and it has been crazy! From deciding on a beach house to who will be invited to registry! BUT even though it has been crazy, it has been very exciting! So far we have decided on Aqua and Platinum for our wedding colors and gotten registered with Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We have also decided on a beach home in Fort Morgan. Finding the beach home has been the most difficult. At first we were just looking around to see what our options were and then once we would find something we liked, it would end up not working out. So then we finally found a place in Gulf Shores, but then found out the HORRIFYING news that there was going to be a music festival in town that weekend.....SOOOO we ended up deciding to move farther out to Fort Morgan to be away from all the traffic and commotion. Then we found this immaculate home that is going to be so perfect!         I have met with bridesmaids and decided on a bachelo...

We are ENGAGED!

On July 3rd, 2016, Blake proposed to me and it was the most perfect moment of my life. We were at my dad's marina, The Point, celebrating the 4th of July with food, fun, and friends. It was not like any other day because Blake had sprung out of bed with an exciting aurora about him. I got up right after him and decided that I should probably get ready and start helping my Dad and Judy get everything ready for lunch at The Point. Once we got down there, I noticed that Blake was content and keeping to himself and after asking him if everything was okay a million times, I realized that it was not out of the ordinary for him to be sitting back and staying to himself.           Then, right when I was getting ready to ask him if he was getting ready to go home, my sister showed up. So then I decided not to say anything about going home and instead spend time with my sister and my nieces since I had been missing them. I remember sitting there...
